John attended UCC followed by the Law Society of Ireland and qualified as a Solicitor in 1980. He was Principal of his legal firm for many years and is now in Partnership with Aidan Leahy. Both John and Aidan have extensive wealth of experience in District, Circuit and High Court Litigation. John has a particular interest in Medical Negligence Litigation and has taken additional studies in that field. After qualifying as a Solicitor John foresaw that there was a future in Mediation/Conciliation/Arbitration.
Following additional studies and examinations he became a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. He was appointed a Commissioner for Oaths and recently appointed a Notary Public. To enhance the firm’s expertise in personal injuries John obtained a qualification in Health & Safety in W.I.T.John has been involved in business and property investments separate from his legal practise. This exposure to business allows him to advise on Property matters in collaboration with John Kelly who is a Conveyancing and Probate expert and a valued Solicitor in the firm.The Partners John Joy and Aidan Leahy enjoy great support from Katie O’Callaghan who was a Trainee in the Firm and has been retained as a Litigation Solicitor and specialises in Family Law/Divorce and Criminal Law Matters.
Aidan Studied Law in University College Cork and qualified as a Solicitor in l999.

He is a partner in John M Joy & Company LLP and joined the Practice in June 2017.
He practices in the area of Litigation, Personal Injury and Criminal and was elected in November 2022 to a Council Member of the Law Society of Ireland and is currently on the Criminal Law Committee and Litigation Committee.
Aidan has been a member of the Tipperary Solicitors Bar Association for a long number of years.

Katie graduated from University College Cork with a BCL and graduated in 2017. She joined our offices as a trainee solicitor in 2018. Katie was recognised by the Law Society of Ireland for receiving the highest mark in her class in the Litigation Module while undergoing the professional practice course. She was admitted to the Role of Solicitors in February 2022.
Katie practices in the area of Family Law and attends at Clonmel, Cashel and Carrick on Suir District Court. She also attends the Circuit Court and High Court in all family law proceedings. She has experience in Personal Injuries, Medical Negligence and Criminal Law matters.
She is currently a Committee Member of the Tipperary Solicitors Bar Association.
