At some stage you may be contacted by the Gardai to give a statement and it is essential you speak to a solicitor and receive the appropriate advice. You may be requested to attend at the Station to give a voluntary Statement or indeed attend at the Station to be formally interviewed. Our Solicitors provide a 24/7 service for Legal advice and can attend at the Gardai Station to provide such advice in advance of any interview.
Criminal Legal Aid
In the event that you have been charged with a Criminal offence and you are concerned about the Legal costs you should contact our Office. We have a number of Solicitors on the Legal Aid Panel they will be in a position to clarify the position in relation to Legal Aid. An application can be made to the Presiding Judge for legal aid. We will assist and advise you in relation to the preparation of your Financial Statement of Means which must be submitted to the Court to support any application for Legal Aid.
In the event that you do not qualify for Legal Aid then you will be advised in good time in relation to the costs of the defence of any matter before the Courts.
Road Traffic Offences
Offences under the Road Traffic Acts are mainly prosecuted within the District Court and these would include No Insurance, dangerous driving, careless driving, driving without reasonable consideration, Driving while intoxicated.
Should you receive a Summons in relation to a Road Traffic Offence then you should contact a Solicitor as soon as possible and we are available to meet with clients during Office hours and also outside of office hours by appointment in that we appreciate everyone leads busy lives.
It is essential that you have an early meeting with your Solicitor to prepare for Court. In some instances such as no Insurance these matters are normally dealt with on the first day of the Court.
